The 2008 DoDIIS Worldwide Conference in San Diego was a huge success for all those who participated. From 16 – 20 March, the event drew a record breaking 2,100+ registered attendees and an additional 1,100+ exhibitor representatives. The impressive exhibit hall included more than 350 booths and the DoDIIS Town Center which provided a unique networking environment and multifunctional demo theater. |

Mr. Grant Schneider, Deputy Director for Information Management and Chief Information Officer, Defense Intelligence Agency, officially opened the conference and set the tone for the array of noteworthy speakers to follow. The plenary sessions’ speakers including Lieutenant General Michael D. Maples, Major General John Custer, Greg Farr, Ron Lane, John Chambers and Jeff Jonas gave the attendees insights and much to think about throughout the week.
Throughout the week there were more than 75 breakout sessions and 50 training sessions offered, including opportunities for certifications. |
Thanks to the sponsorship of General Dynamics, more than 2,100 people boarded the USS Midway Museum for the All-Hands Networking Social on Monday, 17 March. The event offered guided tours of the museum, flight simulators, live music, and the opportunity to network with peers. There were several DoDIIS attendees and exhibitors who served on the USS Midway who were recognized for their service aboard the ship during a short ceremony. |

For the second year, booth awards were given to exhibitors in three different categories. The “Best Use of Technology Award” was won by Palantir Technologies. For the second year, iGov won the “Peoples Choice Award” for their ‘sailing’ experience! Booz Allen Hamilton won “Best Overall Design.” |
With the successes of 2008, planning has already started for the 2009 event in Orlando, FL on 17 – 21 May 2009.
