The United States European Command hosted the first USEUCOM Intelligence Summit and Technology Exposition on 15-17 February, 2010 in Heidelberg, Germany. The event brought together United States and European Partner Nation government, military, law enforcement, academia, and industry leaders to discuss how improved intelligence-sharing and collaboration could strengthen partnerships and linkages required to meet emerging security challenges across the regional and international environment. The Summit theme was “Building Partnerships-Linking Nations.”

Rear Admiral Norman Hayes kicked off the Summit making it clear that bringing this community together and building the partnerships between the US and multi-national partners was essential to mission success. Priorities and objectives were outlined, and Admiral Hayes highlighted that partnerships and relationships between industry and government/military were helping to improve intelligence support to current and future multi-national operations.

Attendees were given time to visit an exhibit hall featuring over 80 different companies; in addition, demonstrations of new technologies and government programs were included in the event schedule. Opportunities to network were available during the breaks and lunch, registration mixer sponsored by SRA, as well as at the All-Hands Networking Social at the Heidelberg Castle, sponsored by General Dynamics, Mission Essential Personnel and SOSI.
