Columbia, MD (October 12, 2007) – National Conference Services, Inc. (NCSI) celebrated its 10th Year Anniversary and announced that four employees have been promoted to upper management positions. NCSI is particularly pleased to have promoted these executive positions from within the company, a trend that has built a solid management team and ten consecutive years of profit.
Elissa Brainard, CMP has been promoted to the position of General Manager of the Conference and Convention Division. When Elissa started her career with NCSI in May 2003, she was the Director of Conferences. During her tenure at NCSI, she has successfully directed the logistics and operations of the DoDIIS Worldwide Conference, a premier IT conference and exhibition in the DoD/Intelligence Community and NCSI’s largest event. Her new position will expand her duties to managing not only the operations side of the division but also the sales team and business development.
Rebecca Lyons has been promoted to the position of General Manager of the Federal Events Division. Since joining NCSI in August 2004, she has gained diverse experience in management, sales, operations and event planning which has been a valuable asset to NCSI. Rebecca’s professional accomplishments include being selected to serve in the Robert L. Krakoff seat on the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Board of Directors for 2008, as well as being the NCSI Employee of the Year in 2005 and 2006. As General Manager, she will be overseeing both the operations and sales components of the Federal Events Division.
Kathy Garrison has been promoted to Director Sales of Business Development. Kathy has primarily served in sales roles for the Conference and Convention Division since joining the company in 2005. Using her sales talents, she set company records for booth and sponsorship sales in 2006 and 2007. Her relationship building skills will be a key in her new role to develop and increase new business for the company.
Sarah Smith has been promoted to Director of Operations and Marketing for the Conference and Convention Division. Sarah started as an event manager in April 2003. She has produced and managed 60+ events for NCSI and recently played an essential role in the successful launch of a new event, the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Worldwide Conference, which brought a unique DoD community together for the first time.
