Flintlock 2026, U.S. Africa Command’s premier annual combined special operations exercise, will once again bring together partner nations from across Africa, the United States, and allied countries to strengthen collective readiness and interoperability in response to shared security challenges.  

Building on more than two decades of collaboration, Flintlock continues to reinforce a network of capable, trusted partners committed to regional stability and global security. The event will be taking place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Africa on April 29-30, 2026.

This year’s exercise will feature a robust program of academic exchanges, staff planning, and command post operations designed to enhance partner nations’ ability to counter violent extremist organizations, operate across borders, share information effectively, and build trust with civilian populations while upholding human rights and the rule of law.

In support of these objectives, we are excited to pair Flintlock 2026 with a dedicated Technology Expo, creating a forum where operators, planners, and decision makers can engage directly with industry. The Tech Expo will highlight emerging technologies, capabilities, and solutions that support special operations, intelligence sharing, communications, mobility, and sustainment bridging operational needs with innovative tools that enable mission success.

Together, Flintlock 2026 and the accompanying Tech Expo are committed to strengthening partner-led security efforts, advancing interoperability, and ensuring forces are prepared to meet today’s complex and evolving defense challenges.
