  • Power Session Title: "Frankly, My Dear, I Give A DAM"
    (Digital Asset Management)

Description: Content is everywhere! Digital Asset Management (DAM) is an agile web-based platform of file organization and collaboration software that empowers government organizations to create, manage, find, and collaborate on all types of digital assets (documents, images, video, etc.) while improving productivity, transparency, and efficiency. A lot of time spent by designers, developers, and multimedia professionals is wasted in searching, isolated conversations, and manual processes. Agencies are seeking to centralize their content silos and enhance their efficiency through collaboration and sharing while maintaining a strong security posture.

  • Power Session Title: "We Are All Poets"
Description: As designers, writers, and analysts, we serve our shared mission through our art, our words, and our imagination. Somewhere amidst the importance of our work, we must remember that there is a place for both creativity and whimsy in what we typically think of as a realm dedicated solely to critical thinking. This session will explore these connections through discussion and group exercises.

  • Power Session Title: "Design Thinking: Empowering Creative Teams in Learning Solution Design"
Description: The Learning Branch replaced hundreds of classroom training hours by implementing inclusive design thinking sessions as part of its standard operating procedure in learning solution development. The result? Media-rich informational graphics, targeted video, and game-based learning solutions. By engaging and empowering our creative team and customer early in the learning design process, they influence the process with their creativity and visual media expertise, leading to powerful learning and performance solutions that reach the learner in less time and using fewer resources.

  • Power Session Title: "Thinking Visually"
Description: The Thinking Visually effort is aimed at moving visualization discussion further left of graphic production, giving analysts ways to choose and use effective visualizations whether they are using the visualizations for analysis or for presentation. This discussion will involve an overview of the Thinking Visually course, and attendees sharing lessons learned in the adoption of visualization principles across the IC. Attendees will leave the session with a copy of the Thinking Visually guide.
11:00am - 12:00pm Lunch/Networking/Exposition
12:00pm - 1:15pm TradeBITS

  • TradeBITS Presentation Title: "Planting the Seed of Empowerment"
    (Digital Asset Management)

Description: Speaker will recall the time he asked the Discovery Channel for six hours of prime time programming, a million dollars, and to be trusted with the integrity of the brand - at the time, the worldwide leader in quality documentary programming.

  • TradeBITS Presentation Title: "The World and Culture of Toy Photography"
Description: In this session, speaker will talk about what led him to the world of toy photography, share some examples of his work - including his feature in a UK-based design magazine - and how he works with toy companies for promotions. Speaker will talk about his approach and share some of his photography techniques, explaining why he prefers toy photography to traditional photography, challenging us all to think "outside the box."

  • TradeBITS Presentation Title: "The Power of Positive Thinking - It All Starts with Attitude"
Description: This session is an entertaining combination of tough love and inspiration. Mark takes the guesswork out of getting from where you are to where you want to be. You'll discover how attitude plays a critical role to your success - both personally and professionally. You'll walk away with a new outlook on the way you interact with you coworkers, your family, and your friends. If you are ready for a dose of reality and have an open mind, you won't want to miss this session.

  • TradeBITS Presentation Title: "The Journey of Self Discovery by Embracing the Unknown"
Description: Jobs are often limited by preset expectations and by the role that others expect us to have. Careers are defined by charting your own destiny and discovering how to add value wherever you are. Ask yourself, do you truly LOVE what you do? If the answer isn't an enthusiastic "YES," then it's time to do something you have never done before. Take the plunge into the scary land of Change, Risk, and Failure. Here is the story of how I discovered a passion and hidden talents I didn't know I had by embracing the unknown.
