WEB + PRINT DESIGNER

National Conference Services, Inc. (NCSI) is seeking a full-time Web + Print Designer to join our team. The Web + Print Designer will support our conferences and events by producing a variety of design assets including print material and digital content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for graphic design of print pieces, from concept and mockup to production and distribution
  • Utilize the WordPress platform to create and maintain event websites
  • Work with the events team to audit and update content on event microsites
  • Ensure accuracy of website content and proactively initiate improvements
  • Perform cross-browser testing and multi-device testing to ensure the best user experience
  • Develop slides and graphics for PowerPoint presentations
  • Produce clean and innovative designs with special attention to typography
  • Responsible for ensuring design pieces are developed to successfully convey the message and receive the desired results for the intended medium
  • Responsible for site optimization including meta descriptions, SEO copywriting, and proper keyword usage
  • Troubleshoot technical issues to improve performance, usability, and accessibility
  • Collaborate with team members to concept, storyboard, and produce media for print, web, and occasionally video
  • Assist with social media and email campaigns
  • Responsible for the quality of client deliverables
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal staff and external customers
  • Effectively negotiate with printers and suppliers
  • Efficiently manage your time, juggle projects and consistently communicate progress
  • Collaborate virtually through Microsoft Teams
  • Research, develop and advocate best practices, remain current with design and technological advancements.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in graphic design, web design, visual communications, or digital media
  • 2+ years design experience (college internships acceptable as experience)
  • Must have extensive knowledge of WordPress and web design experience
  • Must have extensive experience working in the Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Excellent analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills for visual information design
  • Experience with SEO techniques and utilizing keywords in content
  • Ability to write and provide copy edit suggestions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to travel and support the events team at conferences and tradeshows and represent NCSI positively and professionally
  • Effective communication and listening skills, with strong verbal and written skills
  • Must have the desire and ability for continued learning to improve skillsets
  • Valid driver’s license
  • US Citizenship is required

This is an exempt position under the FLSA Professional- Creative Exemption.

EVENT ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce, market, and execute 20+ on-site and/or virtual tabletop technology expositions a year
  • Promote attendance through implementing effective marketing strategies and sales calls
  • Market and promote each event, including scheduling meetings with senior leadership and advertising on the installation(s)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government clients
  • Prospect and develop new business
  • Prepare promotional and marketing materials for each event including flyers, posters, invitations and banners
  • Secure space, organize catering, and facility needs for each event
  • Oversee logistics on event day including set-up/breakdown, registration, facilitation of the senior leadership tour, and all customer service needs
  • Accountable for meeting and exceeding goals in relation to event attendance, event rebooking, and overall team expectations
