Understanding a Multi-Dimensional World:
Leveraging 3D to Deliver Trusted GEOINT to Defense and Intelligence Partners
The 2019 Photogrammetry, 3D Visualization, and Lidar Community of Practice Conference (P3DL), Understanding a Multi-Dimensional World: Leveraging 3D to Deliver Trusted GEOINT to Defense and Intelligence Partners, will be taking place 5-9 August at the NGA Headquarters in Springfield, VA.
The objective of the Photogrammetry, 3D Visualization, and Lidar CoPs is to bring together subject matter experts from throughout NGA and its partners with the common purpose of advancing the principles of principles of photogrammetry, 3D visualization, and lidar. This combined CoP conference is an opportunity to gain an overview of topics related to photogrammetry, 3D visualization, and lidar with colleagues from across the IC, US Government, Academia, and private industry. The CoPs facilitate technical exchanges of tradecraft and technology in their respective focus areas to support Defense and Intelligence partners.
The Photogrammetry and 3D Visualization CoP focuses on photogrammetry and 3D visualization related topics, including mensuration, geopositioning, as well as visualization and modeling. The Lidar CoP focuses on advances and emerging capabilities in the field of Lidar and 3D point cloud phenomenology. This includes, but is not limited to, advances in sensors, processing, and exploitation of ground, air, and space-based point clouds – to include lidar, electro-optical, and other sensor modalities.
The conference will officially kick-off on Tuesday, August 6 with an unclassified industry and academia day. Monday, 5 August, will be an invite-only lidar technical development session for government program managers. Wednesday, 7 August through Friday, 9 August, will be comprised of classified briefings, with a Technology Exposition on Wednesday, 7 August and UAV to 3D focus sessions on Thursday, 8 August. During the Expo, conference attendees have an opportunity to explore the latest technologies in lidar systems, imaging sensors, geospatial intelligence, applied imagery, 3D mapping, laser light beams, 3D visualization, indoor mapping, autonomous vehicles, and exploitation of data.
Attendees will be able to attend some or all of the events based on their interest and mission need.
We look forward to seeing you in August!
